In May 2022, the new Sky Bridge footbridge opened in the Dolní Morava area (Czech Republic); it is the longest footbridge in the world, with a length of 2,365.49 ft. The design and construction of the footbridge were carried out by TAROS NOVA a.s., and the structural analysis was performed in RFEM 5.
Due to the deterioration of some timber footbridges on the pedestrian and cycle path of the Seriana Valley in the province of Bergamo, Italy, it was necessary to refurbish them with more durable materials. Therefore, the mountain community of the Seriana Valley commissioned Studio Rota Nodari of Alzano Lombardo to design and manage the works for the replacement of the bridge over the Serio river between the municipalities of Cene and Gazzaniga, Italy.
One of the world's longest timber bridges was built in Anaklia, a climatic spa town on the eastern shore of the Black Sea. Construction was completed in the beginning of 2012. It is more than 1,640 ft long and connects the hotel and port area with a coastal area that is so far almost unused but will be developed for tourism in upcoming years.
